For months I have been struggling to finish Redemption, the third book in my Dark Secrets Trilogy. After the success of The Janus Complex and Archangel, books 1 and 2, I was finding it difficult and didn't like what I was writing. And then a friend told me that what he really enjoyed about the earlier novels was the way the stories flowed. That was when a light came on in my head. I realised I was overthinking the plot and complicating it. I was also using language in a way I hadn't done in the earlier books. It was stilted. I decided that major surgery was needed so I cut out one major sub-plot (I might use it again some other time) and the result has been amazing. The story is exactly what I wanted and I've found my author's voice again! Now I'm racing to finish with a conclusion as explosive as "Janus" and "Archangel". Out on Kindle and in paperback for Christmas.
